Tremor Gram – November 2015
New Locations Recruiting for Focused Ultrasound Study
Focused ultrasound is a breakthrough technology resulting from the marriage of high-intensity focused ultrasound and MRI technologies. Focused ultrasound is not yet an approved treatment for ET; however, it is currently in the early phases of clinical studies. If proven safe and effective, the ExAblate® Transcranial MR guided focused ultrasound could become a treatment possibility for ET patients for whom medications do not work and deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery is not an option. Enrollment for this study initially closed in September 2014, but has now reopened at multiple locations. For more information or to view current study locations, click here.
IETF Teleconference Survey
The IETF is launching a new, free educational teleconference series focusing on a different essential tremor topic each quarter. Experts in ET care and research will provide up-to-date information in a teleconference format followed by a question-and-answer period. In an effort to maximize this program’s effectiveness, we ask for your input. Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey. Your opinions are important to us and will help us build a program based on your interests and needs.
