Raising Awareness to Essential Tremor
100 Mile Challenge to Raise $10,000 for the IETF
It may be the most physical challenge of his life, but Peder Nelson is up to it. The Navy veteran and Sellersburg, IN resident will compete in the 6th annual Cloudsplitter 100 Oct. 12-13, 2019.
What makes it most meaningful to him to raising awareness to his essential tremor condition, and money for the International Essential Tremor Foundation.
“I wanted to do something to hold myself accountable for this fundraiser so I came up with the idea to do a fundraiser. And then I thought about what was close
to my heart and I chose the IETF because I struggle with essential tremor and I want to do what I can to help,” Peder said.
He’s in full training now and anticipates he will run 1,500 to 3,000 miles as he prepares. And anyone who knows about ET knows that physical activity can temporarily worsen the tremor. Sometimes after a run he has trouble getting his keys in the door and his fine motor skills are impacted.
You can help shine a light on essential tremor and show Peder your support by making a donation.
