Tremor Gram – December 2017
New IETF Marketing & Communications Manager
We are pleased to announce a new staff person at the IETF.
Tammy Dodderidge has joined our staff as the new Marketing and Communications Manager. Tammy brings 30+ years of nonprofit marketing experience to the IETF. She will be overseeing all our marketing efforts including the website, social media, and collateral materials. Her first day with the IETF will be December 27th.
With the timing of the transition to our new marketing manager we will not be able to produce the January issue of Tremor Talk. Tremor Talk will be back with the May issue.
Giving Tuesday Update
The IETF participated again this year in Giving Tuesday on November 29. To help increase donations we chose to dedicate 100% of donations made on Giving Tuesday to the IETF Scholarship Fund. Our goal was $4,000. We are proud to report we received $4,592, a 46% increase from 2016.
Here are a few interesting stats:
- 53 total donors compared to 27 in 2016
- 7 new donors compared to 2 in 2016
- 27 first time Giving Tuesday donors compared to 21 in 2016
Donations for Giving Tuesday have increased each year and we hope to continue to grow this effort as we increase our social media presence.
The IETF scholarship committee has selected four students to receive a $1,000 IETF scholarship for the 2018 spring semester. Congratulations to Madison Young, Brogan Speraw, Ezra Thomas, and Kelly Cordeiro. Two of the recipients are renewals from the fall, one is a previous scholarship recipient, and one is a new recipient.
